In the new Poverty & Race:  Georgetown Law Professor Sheryll Cashin previews her provocative new book on college admissions, “Place Not Race: A New Vision of Opportunity in America,” with responses from Professors Girardeau Spann and Olati Johnson.   Plus an article on HUD civil rights efforts in the Carter administration, from PRRAC Policy Counsel Megan Haberle, and coverage of an innovative civil rights mapping project from the UNC Center for Civil Rights.   See the full issue here before it arrives in your actual mailbox.

“Neighborhood Gentrification” is the latest entry in the “Dream Revisited” series on racial and economic segregation from the Furman Center at NYU.  This fourth installment in the series explores the question of whether gentrification can be controlled to benefit existing low income residents of gentrifying neighborhoods.  The forum is anchored by PRRAC Board member Rachel Godsil.

“One in four: America’s housing assistance lottery”: An animated introduction to the limited reach of our federal housing assistance programs, from Erika Poethig at the Urban Institute.

“Housing and Education Advocates Work Together to Improve Education”: a new article in the Clearinghouse Review from our colleagues David Zisser (now with Public Advocates) and Brenda Shum (Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law).
