Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing: The HUD proposed rule we have all been waiting for has finally been released…the proposed “AFFH Rule” is intended to improve implementation of the Fair Housing Act’s mandate to state and local grantees to avoid housing segregation and promote residential integration and regional equity. See the advance copy here (appearing in the Federal Register tomorrow). We’ll be developing detailed comments on the proposed rule over the next 30-60 days, but check out our homepage tomorrow for an initial statement on the proposed rule.
