The Poverty & Race Research Action Council (“PRRAC”) is a civil-rights advocacy organization focused on addressing structural inequality in housing and education policy. Through research-based strategies, PRRAC champions policies that reform structural impediments disadvantaging low-income people of color. PRRAC supports the Housing Choice Voucher Program and has published issue briefs and articles on HCV Program reform and history. By working closely with local public housing authorities and sourcing funding for housing mobility across the country, PRRAC has helped more than 17,000 families move to higher-opportunity neighborhoods.
The National Housing Law Project (“NHLP”) is a nonprofit organization that works to strengthen and enforce tenants’ rights, increase housing opportunities for underserved communities, and expand the nation’s supply of safe and affordable homes. NHLP publishes “HUD Housing Programs: Tenants’ Rights,” the seminal authority on the rights of Housing and Urban Development tenants, and coordinates more than 2,200 legal aid attorneys, advocates, and organizers through the Housing Justice Network.
National Fair Housing Alliance (“NFHA”) is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to ending discrimination and ensuring equal opportunity in housing, including for voucher holders. NFHA undertakes enforcement efforts in cities and states nationwide and regularly participates as amicus curiae to further its goal of achieving equal housing opportunities for all. The National Homelessness Law Center (“NHLC”) is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works to combat homelessness through expanding access to safe and affordable housing. NHLC has successfully advocated for federal legislation preventing and addressing homelessness.
