Academic Research on Education Policy and Research,by Nicole Devero • Academic Resources
o There are several journals dedicated to the study of education and education policy. However many of them are only accessible to subscribers. If you are part of a subscribing organization, you may be able to access these journals through an academic database, such as JSTOR or Academic Search (EBSCOhost). You may also try to gain access through your local library or university.
Many journal articles are also available online through their publisher, although you may have to pay a fee for each article downloaded. Some of the most influential journals publishing education research are listed below:
American Educational Research Journal
American Journal of Education
Current Issues in Comparative Education
Journal of Blacks in Higher Education
Journal of Educational and Behavioral Statistics
The Journal of Higher Education
The Journal of Negro Education
Review of Educational Research
Review of Research in Education
The TC Record (published by Columbia University’s Teachers College)
In addition to viewing individual journals, researchers can search the Education Resources Information Center, which will search the majority of the journals listed above, in addition to many other educational resources.
